Film production company founded in Barcelona in 2018 by the producer and director Antonio Chavarrías after an extensive and fruitful career. Oberon Media aims to develop a rigorous, quality production line, with an international component and a special interest in promoting new creative talents.

 

Oberon Media's latest productions include La Abadesa (2024), by Antonio Chavarrías, premiered in the Official Selection of the Malaga Film Festival, Las Buenas Compañías (2023) by Sílvia Munt, also presented in the Official Selection of the Malaga Film Festival,  Girasoles Silvestres (2022) by Jaime Rosales, premiered at the Official Selection of the San Sebastian Festival; A Stormy Night (2020) by David Moragas, premiered at the Malaga Film Festival, and screened at D'A Barcelona, among others.

 

Currently, they are in post-production of the fiction feature Los Tortuga by Belén Funes, the documentary Miralles by Maria Mauti, and the short film Campolivar by Alicia Moncholí. In pre-production is they have Un Altre Home, the second feature film by David Moragas, and several other projects in development.

ANTONIO CHAVARRÍAS

Director, screenwriter and producer

In his extensive career, Chavarrías has written and directed many films, with notable works including Dictado (Berlin Film Festival - Official Section); Las Vidas de Celia (San Sebastián Film Festival - Official Section); El Elegido (world premiere on Netflix); Volverás, 2002 (Best Director at the Mar del Plata Film Festival; Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Cinematography at the Ariel Awards; Susana, 1996 (Karlovy Vary Film Festival), among others.

 

As a producer, he stands out for La teta asustada (Golden Bear at the Berlinale and nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film); La hija de un ladrón by Belén Funes (premiered at the San Sebastián Film Festival and awarded Best New Director at the Goya Awards); Aro Tolbukhin in the Mind of a Killer by Agustí Villaronga, Lydia Zimmermanne, and Isaac P. Racine (7 Ariel Awards, San Sebastián Film Festival); Petra by Jaime Rosales (Directors' Fortnight at Cannes); Elisa K by Judith Colell and Jordi Cadena (Special Jury Prize at the San Sebastián Film Festival); or Pau y su hermano by Marc Recha (Official Selection at Cannes); among many other productions.

ALBA BOSCH DURAN

Executive Producer

 

Graduated in Audiovisual Communication at UPF, she complemented her studies at UCLA with the "Global Cities" scholarship. She began her career as a production and post-production assistant on projects such as Clara Roquet's El Adiós and Carlos Marquès-Marcet's 13 Dies d’octubre. In 2016, she joined Oberon Cinematogràfica as a production assistant and development producer.

 

In 2019, she premiered her first feature film as the responsible producer for development, La hija de un ladrón by Belén Funes (Official Selection at San Sebastián, Best New Director at the Goya Awards). In 2020, she was involved in A Stormy Night, the debut film of David Moragas. In 2018, Alba became executive producer at Oberon Media.

NATALIA PEÑA

Financial Manager

Graduated in Business Administration and Management at the University of Barcelona, she specialized in tax advantages for film investments through her undergraduate thesis. She furthered her education with a Master's in Financial and Accounting Management at UPF Business School Management. After working for over 5 years as a production accountant at a film, series, and musical theater production company in Barcelona, she joined the Oberon Media team in 2023 as a financial manager.

MIA FARRÉS

Production Coordinator

Graduated in Audiovisual Communication from UPF. In 2021, she starts working as a development assistant in film production companies in Barcelona, where she nurtures her interest in script and editing processes. In September 2022, she joins Oberon Media's team as a production and development coordinator. At the same time, she is working on her first short film as a scriptwriter and director, El Niu, while studying musical training.
